Androgyny Image

Illustration of Martian from the sci-fi/fantasy magazine Fantastic Adventures, published from the late 1930's to the early 1950's. Although the space creature has distinctive humanoid features as well as the ability to shake hands, it has evolved into an apparently genderless form. The large chest shows increased lung capacity due to thin air as opposed to increased mammary glands or breast tissue.
